Nolan: Month Seven

We're wrapping up what should probably be considered our most "eventful" month yet. You are growing and doing so much, I can barely keep up to make sure all of it's included in this blog.

Here's to hoping I don't leave anything out!

You found your laugh. Ahh, yes. That adorable, contagious, watched-multiple-times-by-multiple-people laugh! It's too bad that video never went viral. Ha! No, but seriously. We loved hearing stories about the joy and laughter your laughter brought to others. And all I had to do was BARK. After that hysterical night, we barked, and barked, and barked some more. And you know what? You haven't laughed like that since. We blame it on the fact that you were a little sleepy and loopy that evening and would have probably laughed at anything. But don't mind me if I randomly bark in public or something else overly obnoxious ;).

You love food. We've added sweet peas, sweet potato, pears, yellow squash, and oatmeal to the menu.
Your favorite? Anything with cinnamon.

You officially started using the high chair. And the reason that's cool is because it actually use to be mine. Hand-me-downs and other things of nostalgia are simply the best.

And let's talk about this Ergo carrier. I'm borrowing it from a friend, and let's just say it is a God-send. We're still on the "What's a nap schedule?" schedule (it works for us), but being out and about could get tricky. However, you'll sleep on the go in that carrier. Alleluia.

Being outside is your favorite.

Bubble baths are way too fun.

Need something? Oh you don't like that? That's fine. You'll just "cough."

You're holding your own bottle and sitting up by yourself now.

Your first bout with sickness sent us to the ER. What could have been much worse ended up being a viral infection your body was able to fight on its own over the course of a few days. But that fever of 104.5 was NOT okay. Just not.

You took your first beach trip to Hilton Head Island.

Your first tooth popped up last week. Daddy found it.
Here you are with Daddy, brushing that tooth for the first time:

You're working on consonant sounds. You say, "Mmmmm" and "Buh buh buh" a lot.
"Muh-Muh" TOTALLY slips out from time to time!

You've been trying the sippy cup for a few days now. It's a work in progress.

Your favorite book is Diggers by John Abbott.

Your dad and I check in on you every night before we go to bed. I'm not exactly sure when that started, but we love it. You are such a cute sleeper.

Oh and Uncle Chris made a surprise visit to Savannah all the way from Germany. And he brought lobster! Family visits are the BEST.

You're 7 months old, kiddo!
We can't imagine life without you.

Our Beach Babe

Nolan laid eyes on the big blue for the first time this past Saturday. He loved it all. The sand, the water (way too cold to touch this time), and the seagulls were mesmerizing to him. Just as we hoped they would be.

My BFF, Alanna, and her sweet, SWEET family invited us to spend the day with them on Hilton Head Island. Several friends were also playing in a volleyball tournament a few miles down the beach, and we got to bump into them as well and watch them dish it out in the championship game. Then we met back up with the Smallwood and Konieczny families for one last beach hoorah and a BBQ supper before heading back home.

The day started off cool and cloudy, but bundling up was the best. Then the skies opened up and the sunshine came. The weather couldn't have been more cooperative and neither could have our child. And after going through the sickest, crummiest three days prior to this, a well baby was totally worth celebrating and road tripping for.
It was THE most wonderful mini trip.

And we documented.
We documented a bunch.

Two of the best dads around.

 My world.

 These two.

There is a special place in my heart for this family...always.
